Wedding Day Tips
We wanted to take a few moments to share some tips and hints that will help make your day go as smoothly as possible.
Planning Your Timeline
You can expect nearly everything to take longer than you expect it to - particularly hair and makeup. If you've hired a makeup artist, it's a good idea to have them come an hour earlier than you had planned.
We highly encourage shooting the formals before the ceremony, for two reasons:
1. It lets you enjoy the moment of seeing each other for the first time. This often yields some of the best images of the day.
2. You can leave for the reception right after the ceremony - you get to enjoy the cocktail hour, instead of hurrying through the formal photos.
If you decide to go this route, we advise at least 60-80 minutes for formal images - i.e. bride and groom with bride's parents, bride and groom with groom's parents, etc.
We suggest avoiding glitter (does not photograph well at all) and mineral makeup (particularly the concealer - gives light, glowing rings).
Bring an extra pair of shoes - wedges of the same height as your wedding shoes are best. They'll be much easier to walk around in, but also won't change your height and make the dress too long.
Eat and Drink
Don't forget to! It's too easy to not eat due to nerves and general busyness - bad idea! Many bridal parties have at least one member fall over at some point due to not eating and drinking enough. If you're getting married in the summer, make sure you're drinking water or Gatorade in addition to soda or alcohol. Dehyradation will ruin anyone's wedding day!
